This little guy is just so cute! (Unlike it's cousin, the slug, especially when you walk outside in the early morning without your shoes on. Not that I have any experience with this...) I paired his up with a sheet of Creative Vision Stamps' Foilables. To add more interest to the dots, I popped epoxy dots randomly on them.

Got an ingrown toenail? Eat a cupcake; you'll feel better! Lost your car keys? Eat a cupcake; your keys are probably sitting right beside them! Laid off from work? Eat a cupcake; if you made them and they're good, you might have a new career! And who doesn't like chunky glitter that looks just like sugar? NOBODY!
Nothing very clever to creating this card, as the paper does most of the work. I colored the snail and made the border with Copic markers and embellished with epoxy dots. This slimy little guy comes from Creative Vision Stamps' "Stick With It" stamp set. As you can clearly see, its not taking it's own advice as it careens around a corner!
Yeesh! I guess my ability to match mammals to their names needs some work! This very masculine MOOSE is from Creative Vision Designs "Animals" Foilable packet. The worst part? There was an actual deer I could have used. Don't know what's wrong with me some days!
The weather here in Washington state is back where it belongs - in the 70's - so I"m not complaining so loudly today. However, there's no reason to avoid a snowy Winter day, so here's a nice, quiet landscape made with trees from Creative Vision Stamps' His BIrthday clear stamp set.
You know every respectable bovine has a shawl to wear. Right, Bossie? Bossie comes from Creative Vision Stamps' Foilable "Animals" package. Our girl here is wearing a very fashionable shawl over her gorgeous shade of blue foil!
This little shaker card - that needs a whole lot more flies in it - features images/sentiments from Creative Vision Stamps' "What Bugs You" clear stamp set.
As promised, here is another card using the "Beary Merry" set from Creative Visions Stamps. This time, I focused on the trees, rather than the bears.
This card, created with Creative Vision Stamps' "Beary Merry" set, reminds me a bit of a chapter from one of the Mary Poppins books by P. L. Travers. For those of you who've only seen the movie musical, you haven't experienced the real Mary Poppins. She is certainly magical, but she is also self-absorbed and prone to teaching scary lessons to misbehaving children. Nonetheless, I love the magic and have read all the books more than once.
The chapter I reference has to do with putting stars up in the sky. Here's a paragraph from the book: "Then Jane and Michael saw a most amazing sight. As soon as she arrived at the top of her ladder, Mrs. Corry dipped her brush into the glue and began slapping the sticky substance against the sky. And Mary Poppins, when this had been done, took something shiny from her basket and fixed it to the glue. When she took her hand away they saw that she was sticking the Gingerbread Stars to the sky. As each one was placed in position it began to twinkle furiously, sending out rays of sparkling golden light." Another fabulous Foilable from Creative Visions Stamps!
Back with another hit from Creative Vision Stamps' latest release. "Pet Monsters" is a fun mash-up - literally, in the case of that zombie raccoon! - for cute Halloween cards. For this card, I colored the two images with Copic markers and attached them to the Halloween sentiment. I didn't have a spider web die, so I opted for this one with the boxes.
Whoo-hoo! There are a lot of fantastic new stamp sets at Creative Vision Stamps; it's an incredible new release of stamps and Foilables!
Better late than never, right? This card uses the eclipse technique. I think the way to do the technique successfully is to go slowly and plan. Definitely start with the middle letter to better define center so your letters are balanced across the card. I sponged the edges of the letters in yellow to help them stand out a bit from the background paper.
You know I had to work in some Wink of Stella on the butterfly, which is popped up with two layers of mounting tape under the wings and one layer under the body. Mom and I went to see "Dixie's Tupperware Party," which was hilarious and darned naughty! Five out of five stars! (And actual Tupperware can be purchased from Dixie!) This is toughie, isn't it? Wlibur from Charlotte's Web? Piglet from Winnie the Pooh? Babe from Babe? Miss Piggy from The Muppets? Arnold Ziffel from Green Acres? PIglet from WInnie the Pooh? Olivia from Olivia?
I, myself, am partial to Babe. I like the way he operates - tries to get along with everyone, cares about others, worries about things that matter. "...faaaaa-rrm livin' is the life for me. Land spreading out so far and wide; keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside." Admit it, you just sang the whole song, didn't ya? I think I know all the theme songs from television of that era. (If only all the television of that era was worth the remembering!)
You can't get much more masculine than a lion, and this image from Creative Vision Stamps' Foilables series. I whipped out some safari paper I'd had for awhile and I think it's just right for this gorgeous. Seeing this made me remember the cross-eyes lion on the 60's TV show "Daktari." I'm seriously dating myself with this reference! This sentiment, from Creative Vision Design's "Whoop De Freakin' Do!" was just too perfect for this retro paper; I had to make the card!
I know some people are probably horrified that I cut the sentiment apart. I do this to a lot of sentiment stamps and don't feel one bit bad about it. I can always line it back up the way it was originally and have the added benefit of making the sentiment work for many different applications. C'mon! Liberate yourself and your stamps - trim them out and go wild!
This cheery little card might be better suited to December or January, but any day now, real summer is going to hit the Pacific Northwest, and I'll be whining about sweat and no air conditioning. So I'm wallowing in all the Winter I can find!
Love this masculine card! The bear image is perfectly foiled . . . and both bear and foil come from Creative Vision Stamps. This foiling business is EASY and the foil from Creative Vision Stamps is incredible
If you struggle with masculine cards, these Foilables may be your saving grace. And there's a "full monty" of choices! (And don't you just love that movie? It's good every time I watch it!) My favorite part of this bright birthday card is the tiny party hat perched on "Freakin." The sentiment, from Creative Vision Designs, kind of sums up my feelings about post-30 birthdays. You, too?
This was a simple card to put together. I used a piece of paper that had the sun image o it, then stamped the sentiment. I free-handed the party hat and the outline of the sun's rays. Ba-da-bing, ba-da-boom! If you like what I created today, you can shop www.creativevisionstamps.com shop use my Design Team discount to receive 10% off your next order of $20 or more. Purple is my favorite color, and it is such a great - and sometimes unexpected - color for winter. I used Creative Vision Stamps' "Create 8" Paisley as a background because the flowers and swirls reminded me of Winter's snow and wind. (I'm originally from Kansas, so I can tell you about wind!) I also used Creative Vision Stamps' "Blessings of the Season" for my image. I went monochromatic but still ended up with a lot of texture because I added lilac glitter and chunky white glitter to add a bigger winter feel.
These Foilables are a great time saver and look like a million bucks with the incredible shine they give off. If you haven't tried foiling before, I recommend the foils at Creative Vision Design - high quality and lots of product! For all your younger friends who like to lord it over you, I submit this sentiment and card as the perfect card to give them on their 50th birthday. And it was easy to make, too.
The sentiment comes from Creative Vision Stamps and worked perfectly with the hand-torn scene created from cardstock. (Believe it or not, there is an art to torn paper. Notice how the gray tone in the mountains shows? That's because I tore the paper toward me.) I drew in the 50 year old at the mountain peak. As cards go, this one required very few materials: black, white, and blue cardstock from my scrap bins, a thin black marker, and glue. And easy does it with the sentiments that I stamped in white ink. (It is valid on regular-priced items only, doesn't count toward shipping and tax, and cannot be used with their custom stamp service.) I' miss my grandma so much. I see or hear something every day that reminds me of her. She was all about love and was the very best person I've ever known. (I think Jimmy Carter would be a close second and would love a chance to meet him!)
For today's card, I used Creative VIsion Stamps' sentiment stamp about grandma's. Such a fun sentiment that scream for lots of embellishments! I went with two - the cutout heart and rhinestones. I cut up some paper that had designs about love and glued them to the card front in an arrangement I liked, added the sentiment tag and heart, and it's ready for someone to use since I have no living grandmothers. I swear to you, when I was in 1st grade, I was standing by the bedroom window and saw Rudolph's nose. SANTA IS REAL! While I'm no longer a Christmas girl, the magic of Santa is special no matter what. This image and sentiment are from a clear stamp set, Santa's List, from Creative Vision Stamps. Santa and his accoutrements were colored with Copic markers. There was something missing with the background, so I got out my white gel pen and added a pattern to it. Next time I need to find paper with that background on it, because that took a loooong time to do!
