This month, the team was challenged to watercolor using whatever mediums worked for you. I used materials from the "Orchard" kit, as well as Memento Luxe hybrid inks, Inktense watercolor pencils, and Prismacolor pencils. The one thing I DIDN'T use was watercolor paper because it was nowhere to be found! (The results were certainly acceptable for someone who only sort of knows what she's doing! Watercolor paper would definitely work better, though!)
I slowly built up the pencil color, but you can still see some of the stroke lines, especially in the cherries. I also had some trouble managing the color where I placed the light source; only the peach really worked.
More practice required!
This was my first time using Inktense pencils. One of the most difficult parts of using them was figuring out what color a specific pencil would yield. I probably need to create a chart and watch a few YouTube videos before I try them again!
This was my least successful medium. I know the Distress Oxdes would be stellar, but I'm not sure how many of the colors now available would work with this fruit.
This was a fun challenge. Give it a go!
That's it for me AND for this hop. If you've been inspired to make something gorgeous from the "Orchard" kit, you're only a couple of keystrokes away!
See ya soon!
