Love that plaid paper with the other patterned paper and the sweet heart pin is super cute!
This little birthday card uses a sentiment from The Project BIn's "Born Yesterday" set. I know a few people who resemble that sentiment . . . I wish I was one of them!

Blog hoppin' today? If so, you probably came from Wendy's blog. If not, and you want to know the hop order, Karen has the list over at Club Scrap! I decided to go with gift packaging for this month's hop. I'd like to say I love what I made, but my mojo took the week off. This box-in-a-card (as opposed to a card-in-a-box) was made following these instructions from Kay Williamson at Club Scrap. I ended up having to jigger the opening for the gift box a little at a time until it fit snugly without the box warping the card. I stamped the peach in the background of the actual card and added some peaches I cut out from one of the pieces of decorative cardstock. This card/box tutorial was shared on Beccy's blog. I like easel cards and making this one was really simple. This is definitely a gift for someone you'll be seeing because mailing it will cost a fortune! These were quick to put together. The pumpkin is designed to hold a Ferrero Rocher candy (or other candy that's round) in the middle. The gift card holder isn't anything you haven't already seen, but I like the "button" closure. That's it for me. You're only a couple of keystrokes away from Lisa's blog, where there's more tasty stuff from "Orchard!"
See ya soon! Blog hoppin' today? If so, you probably came from Wendy's blog. If not, and you want to know the hop order, Karen has the list over on Club Scrap! This month, the team was challenged to watercolor using whatever mediums worked for you. I used materials from the "Orchard" kit, as well as Memento Luxe hybrid inks, Inktense watercolor pencils, and Prismacolor pencils. The one thing I DIDN'T use was watercolor paper because it was nowhere to be found! (The results were certainly acceptable for someone who only sort of knows what she's doing! Watercolor paper would definitely work better, though!) This card above was done using Prismacolor colored pencils. I know what you're thInking - Kelly, this isn't watercoloring. I get it; but hear me out. It is possible to emulate watercoloring with pencils and markers. (My friend, Sandy Allnock, who is a watercoloring genius, has demonstrated how it is possible to make Copic markers look like watercoloring, bowling over Tim Holtz who said it couldn't be done!) I slowly built up the pencil color, but you can still see some of the stroke lines, especially in the cherries. I also had some trouble managing the color where I placed the light source; only the peach really worked. More practice required! This card was done using Inktense watercolor pencils. Again, I slowly built up the color, which helped some with the shading. I also had some trouble managing the color in the area I selected the light source.. This was my first time using Inktense pencils. One of the most difficult parts of using them was figuring out what color a specific pencil would yield. I probably need to create a chart and watch a few YouTube videos before I try them again! I used the Memento Luxe ink pads on this one. I created a palette by smooshing the ink onto a piece of acetate. I really like the apple on this card. I wasn't able to blend a good peach color, and I blurbeled on the cut apple.
This was my least successful medium. I know the Distress Oxdes would be stellar, but I'm not sure how many of the colors now available would work with this fruit. This was a fun challenge. Give it a go! That's it for me AND for this hop. If you've been inspired to make something gorgeous from the "Orchard" kit, you're only a couple of keystrokes away! See ya soon!
1. You must be a follower to join the challenge. (If you are not a follower, your entry will be deleted and that sucks. Just be a follower already!)
2. You may enter up to four projects per month. 3,. You must indicate in your blog what are participating in this challenge AND post a link back to Chalk n Stock. 4. Use the linky tool to add your entry! Ba-da-bing-ba-da-boom! Let me think . . . is there anything about Fall that I don't like? Hmm. Nope, not one thing!
This card features one of the images from Club Scrap's latest kit, "Orchard." I used Copics to color in all the beautful fruit and added lots of distressing with the speckle stamp that is part of the kit. I used some gold Wink of Stella on the outside frame and also dribbled some onto the image itself. This card is being entered into The Heart Desires color challenge! Ahhh, Fall, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways! Yum. It's Fall and I love it! This cute little card uses elements from Club Scrap's latest kit, "Orchard." The main image is from one of the cut-apart sheets and is incredibly beautiful. I added green sequins with a red-orange rhinestone in the center.
I'm entering this card into Stamp, Ink, Paper's Fall challenge. Going to the Fair this weekend and a double caramel apple with chopped peanuts is my first stop! Seriously . . . yum! This chant may be followed by a 50-something, menosausal, woman dancing naked in the moonlight. I'm willing to sacrifice for all of you so that we might embrace Autumn once again. But no flash photography. Oh, who am I kidding? No photography of any kind. Let's not spoil Autumn, right?
So, this is from one of my favorite sets from The Project Bin, "Autumn's Calling". I used glittery embossing powder that didn't quite live up to it's potential, but the idea is a good one. I die cut the two leaf shapes and love how ornate they are. Surely Autumn will show up soon!
